Steps to migrate from manual accounts to Plaid

We’ve Upgraded to Plaid for a Faster, More Reliable Banking Experience


To provide you with a faster, more reliable, and secure banking experience, we’ve upgraded our system by switching from MX to Plaid — a trusted financial technology provider.

As part of this process, your existing MX-associated bank connection has been converted into an offline account. You now just need to reauthenticate those accounts and link the newly fetched accounts with the existing ones. Account syncing will resume seamlessly afterwards.

Please follow the simple steps below to migrate your previously connected accounts.


Note: The screenshots below are for reference only and contain sample (dummy) data.


Reconnect Your Bank :

1. You will see your disconnected account with the error message:
“Bank connection upgraded for better security. Please reconnect your account to continue syncing.”

2. Click on any of the accounts and go to the Account Details screen.




3. Click on the Re-connect button and follow the steps mentioned. Then, click on the Re-connect button again to continue.



4. A Plaid pop-up will appear; just continue as a guest.




5. Search for the bank to which the disconnected account needs to be reconnected.



6. Complete the process of bank authentication and then select all the accounts you want to fetch. Make sure to select all accounts that were already there so you can link the disconnected account.







Link Accounts for the Reconnected Accounts:

  1. For each account marked in yellow, tap to start the linking process.


2. During the linking process, choose the correct or existing account to complete the linking.



3.While linking, choose a start date for when to begin fetching transactions with the new vendor. This is usually the date after your last transaction in the disconnected account.



4. Tap Continue to proceed.

5. The existing manual account will become active and will start showing a green dot.
