The TimelyBills app currently don't have the feature to create recurring expenses however we recommend our users to create recurring bills in the app rather than recurring expenses. These bills when paid will be shown as your expenses
How it solve the recurring expense problem?
- When you create a recurring bill, it schedules the payment for future dates, and once you mark it as paid, the app automatically records it as an expense.
- Moreover, the future bill is accounted for in your upcoming balance calculations, ensuring you can keep track of future obligations without recording them as expenses before they happen.
Steps to create recurring bill:
- Go to Home > Bills and tap the + icon.
- Enter the Bill Amount Due.
- Select Standard Category or create a Custom Category and choose the Service Provider Name (their image will appear with the bill)
- Create or edit Auto-Generated Title
- Auto-Generated: The app creates a default title based on the bill details.
- Custom: You can create your own title.
- Set the Due Date for the bill.
- Select the Repeat option:
- Choose Recurrence like Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Annually, etc
- Custom recurrence provides more customization which is out of above-mentioned recurrence
- Choose Recurrence like Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Annually, etc
- Set a reminder to alert you before the due date.
- Enable Auto Paid to mark the bill as paid automatically on the due date in the app.
- This does not process the actual payment and you still need to pay through your bank account but an expense transaction is created and its impact is shown on linked account balance
- Select an Account to pay from.
- Enable Add Expense Entry: If enabled, an expense entry will be automatically created when marking the bill as paid or if the bill is marked as auto-paid by the app.
- Optionally, add Notes or attach a Photo.
- Tap the save icon (✓) to complete the process
