How do I set up a group budget?

Group budgeting in TimelyBills allows multiple people, like family members, roommates, or partners—to manage and track shared finances together in one place. This is especially useful for households or groups that split expenses or save for common goals.


Follow these steps to create a group budget:


1. Navigate to
Go to Home > Budget, then tap the ‘+’ icon in the top right corner


2. Choose Budget Type

Select Family/Group Budget

3. Select Budget Nature

Choose whether it’s an Income or Expense budget.

4. Enter Budget Details

Fill in the following information:

  1. Name

  2. Image (optional)

  3. Amount

  4. Repeat Frequency (e.g., Monthly, Weekly, Bi-weekly, Bi-monthly)

  5. Category

  6. Account

  7. Rollover Toggle  (If enabled, the remaining of the current period will be carried over to the next period.)
  8. Spending Alert ( If expenses go beyond the limit specified, start showing spending alerts.)


After entering the details, tap Next.

If you have selected repeat options, tap Apply to confirm

5. Review & Confirm
Double-check all the budget settings.


6. Finalize Budget

Tap Create Budget to finalize and activate it.


 Family/Group budgeting is part of the Pro Subscription.
