Modified on Thu, 15 May at 4:34 PM

Read the information below carefully to migrate existing accounts to Plaid:

Migrating your manual or disconnected accounts to the new Plaid connection takes just two simple steps:

  1. Reconnect your bank account by authenticating through Plaid.

  2. Link the newly fetched accounts to your existing manual or disconnected accounts.

Once completed, your accounts will start syncing seamlessly again.

Step 1: Reconnect Your Bank (Fetch)

  • On the Accounts screen, you’ll see your disconnected account with a message:
“Bank connection upgraded for better security. Please reconnect your account to continue syncing.”

  • Tap on the disconnected account to open the Account Details screen.

  • Tap the Reconnect button. A screen will appear explaining the steps. Tap Reconnect again to continue.

  • A Plaid pop-up will open. Tap Continue, then select Continue as guest.

  • Search for your bank and follow the prompts to authenticate your account.

  • After authentication, select all accounts you want to connect.

⚠️ Make sure to include the accounts that were previously connected, so they can be linked properly.

Step 2: Link Fetched Accounts to Existing Ones

  • On the Accounts screen, newly fetched accounts will appear with a yellow icon.

  • Tap each yellow-marked account to begin the linking process.

  • Select the correct existing account (manual or disconnected) to complete the link.

  • When prompted, choose a start date for syncing transactions.

ℹ️ Tip: Use the day after the last transaction in the disconnected account to avoid duplicates.

  • Tap Continue. The account will now become active and display a green dot.
