How can I enable or disable budget notifications?

Modified on Wed, 7 May at 2:43 PM

TimelyBills lets you manage budget alerts at both the global (app-wide) level and the individual budget level, giving you full control over how and when you get notified.

To Enable or Disable All Budget Notifications (App-Wide):

  1. Go to Dashboard → Menu → Settings → Notifications.

  2. Look for the toggles labeled:

    • Spending Notification

    • Overspending Notification

  3. Use the toggles to turn them ON or OFF as per your preference.

  4. Once turned off, all budget-level notifications will be disabled, regardless of individual budget settings.

To Enable or Disable Notifications for a Specific Budget:

  1. Go to the Budget section on your Dashboard.

  2. Tap on the budget you want to manage to open its details screen.

  3. Tap the 3-dot icon in the top right corner.

  4. In the dialog that appears, you’ll see options to enable or disable:

    • Spending Notification

    • Overspending Notification

Toggle these based on your preference. (See the attached screenshot for reference.)

?Tip:

  • Spending Notifications alert you when a budget reaches your defined threshold (e.g., 70%).

  • Overspending Notifications are triggered when spending exceeds 100% of the budget.

  • These alerts apply only to Expense-type budgets.
